BLAC-RAC Does Not Open Electronically

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Output is not 12 Volts DC

  • ACTION:  Replace supply so output is 12 Volts DC

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Bad ground

  • ACTION:  Ground BLAC-RAC to negative power supply terminal 

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Pinched wires

  • ACTION:  Inspect for pinching connecting BLAC-RAC to power supply OR inspect for pinching inside BLAC-RAC lid cover

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Wires not connected

  • ACTION:  Confrim connectors are plugged into circuit board

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Blown fuse

  • ACTION:  Replace ONLY with Littelfuse 04773.15MXP

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Fuse not in contact with fuse housing

  • ACTION:  Unscrew housing and ensure fuse is making contact

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Switch is not functioning properly

  • ACTION:  Replace switch

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Incorrect switch selection (if using COLD-WIRE)

  • ACTION:  COLD-WIRE requires a Normally-Closed Momentary Switch

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Pin has seized inside of solenoid

  • ACTION:  Return unit to BLAC-RAC factory for warranty repair

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Circuit board has failed

  • ACTION:  Field repair with new circuit board OR Return unit to BLAC-RAC factory for warranty repair

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Solenoid wires pinched  or damaged

  • ACTION:  Return unit to BLAC-RAC factory for warranty repair

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Solenoid has failed

  • ACTION:  Return unit to BLAC-RAC factory for warranty repair

BLAC-RAC Loose on T-Channel

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Vibration

  • ACTION:  Apply medium strength threadlocker to bolts

POSSIBLE CAUSE: Improper torque applied to yoke bolts

  • ACTION:  Torque bolts to 7 – 10 ft-lbs

BLAC-RAC Loose on Yoke

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Vibration

  • ACTION:  Apply medium strength threadlocker to bolts

POSSIBLE CAUSE: Improper torque applied to yoke bolts

  • ACTION:  Torque bolts to 15 – 20 ft-lbs

Weapon Rattles or is Loose when in BLAC-RAC

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Breech width is not adjusted correctly

  • ACTION:  Adjust breech width correctly 

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Weapon does not fit

  • ACTION:  Do not use BLAC-RAC to secure weapon

Delay Timer is not Working or Requires Switch to be Held Down to Open Unit

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Circuit board has failed

  • ACTION:  Field repair with new circuit board OR Return unit to BLAC-RAC factory for warranty repair

Rough Handle Operation when Opening or Closing BLAC-RAC

POSSIBLE CAUSE:  Contaminants have settled on pins

  • ACTION:  Clean rods and apply a liberal amount of lithium grease

POSSIBLE CAUSE: Rods are no longer lubricated

  • ACTION:  Clean rods and apply a liberal amount of lithium grease
